Perth-Based | People Partner
An amazing opportunity is available for an experienced People Partner to join one of Australia’s most highly regarded architectural and interior design studios in their Perth office.
This role is a consultative role that will work closely with senior leadership, managers and employees to align people and learning initiatives with sector, team and practice goals. As a key partner, this role is crucial in developing people leadership capabilities and leadership confidence to enable a high performing culture, high employee engagement and strong talent development across an allocated portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sector and team needs, an ability to translate people and learning strategy into action, technically astute in managing complex people matters and the capability to influence change at all levels.
What You’ll Be Doing
Senior Leader Business Partnering
- Partner with sector and team leaders to develop a deep understanding of sector and team objectives, ensuring the delivery of strategic people solutions that support high performance, continual growth, and operational success.
- Enable leadership effectiveness through tailored coaching, guidance, and development initiatives that build leadership capability, confidence, and accountability across the sector, team and practice.
- Proactively support leaders in managing complex employee relations matters, including complaints, grievances, and performance issues, with a strong focus on early intervention and constructive resolution.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, fostering strong relationships and providing expert guidance on workplace matters to promote a positive and inclusive culture.
- Lead and support change management initiatives, including restructures and organisational transitions, to ensure effective communication, employee engagement, and risk mitigation.
- Drive and support employee cycle activity including employee engagement, retention, and cultural initiatives by aligning people strategies with sector or team goals and employee feedback.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation, industrial instruments, and internal policies, promoting fair and consistent application across all people practices.
- Build leader capability in employment law, policy interpretation, and people management through coaching, training, and ongoing support to foster confidence and self-sufficiency.
- Advise on legal and reputational risks in HR decision-making, ensuring compliance, best practice, and alignment with practice values.
Recruitment and Talent Management
- Lead and support the end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and retention of high-quality talent to meet current and future workforce needs.
- Drive external talent mapping and proactive sourcing strategies to build strong pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill roles.
- Partner with leaders to identify current and future skill gaps, developing targeted learning, development, and career progression plans to build internal capability and support leadership growth.
- Provide strategic coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management, employee development, and succession planning to build a high-performing, future-ready workforce.
- Provide advice on remuneration and promotion readiness.
- Support a diversity and inclusion initiatives, policies and practices across the practice.
HR Analytics and Reporting
- Monitor and analyse key people and practice metrics to provide insights and recommendations for innovation and improvement.
- Prepare and present people reports to sector and team management on key workforce trends and issues including risk or legislative obligations.
- Use data-driven approaches to address people challenges and guide decision-making.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, you must:
- Be relationship orientated with natural ability to build rapport with multiple stakeholders.
- Be technically astute in employment law and possess a deep understanding of employment obligations.
- Have strong influence and facilitation skills to support leaders to navigate complex people matters.
- Have strong attention to detail and be outcome orientated.
- Be agile and flexible, with the ability to pivot and respond to changing needs.
- Have capacity to operate as a business partner and lead projects.
- Bring strength in managing multiple priorities and timelines through to completion.
Desired Requirements
- Have previous experience working within an Australian architectural or interior design practice
- Be confident coordinating with architects, designers, management and leaders in the architecture and design industry
- Be able to integrate quickly into an established team
- Hold full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
