In the role as Junior Planner / Assistant Development Manager, you will be:
Reporting directly to the Head of Planning, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and development functions across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will gain exposure to development approvals, stakeholder engagement, consultant coordination, feasibility input, and project delivery, providing an excellent platform for long-term career growth within the property development industry.
In the role as Junior Planner / Assistant Development Manager, here are your key responsibilities:

Prepare and coordinate Concept Development Applications and Detailed Development Applications

Assist with the preparation and submission of Complying Development Certificate (CDC) applications

Navigate planning and approval pathways across various local government areas
-
Review planning controls, policies, and legislation to provide strategic planning advice
-
Liaise with local councils, government agencies, planners, and assessment officers
-
Respond to requests for additional information and address stakeholder concerns throughout the approval process
-
Prepare Statements of Environmental Effects (SEE) and planning reports
-
Assist with modification applications and assess planning conditions against project objectives
-
Analyse development opportunities, site constraints, and planning risks
-
Coordinate consultants, architectural documentation, and supporting reports
-
Participate in pre-lodgement meetings with councils and authorities
-
Manage planning portal submissions and approval documentation
-
Assist with post-approval compliance and condition management during construction
-
Contribute to feasibility assessments and identify opportunities to enhance project outcomes

Support the broader development team across project delivery activities

In the role as Junior Planner / Assistant Development Manager, we require you to have the following skills and experience:
- Multi Residential / Class 2 project experience
- A tertiary qualification in Urban Planning, Property Development, Architecture, Town Planning, or a related discipline

1–3 years’ experience within planning, development, consultancy, local government, or a related property environment

Sound understanding of the NSW planning framework

Experience using the NSW Planning Portal

Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare planning reports and supporting documentation

Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

A proactive mindset and genuine interest in property development and planning
