Role: Interior Designer – Defence Projects
Location: Perth, WA
Join a nationally recognised architectural practice with a strong reputation for delivering complex interior design solutions across defence and commercial sectors. Due to expanding defence project work, our Perth office is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to work on significant government and defence assignments.
The successful candidate will be an all-rounder capable of working independently across all project phases. You’ll manage interior design components of large-scale projects from initial concept through to construction completion, requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work autonomously.
If you’re an interior designer with 5-10+ years experience on large scale commercial, health, defence, aviation, and education projects, this role offers excellent career development within prestigious defence assignments.
Essential Requirements:
- 5-10+ years professional interior design experience
- Extensive large scale project experience (commercial, health, defence, aviation, education)
- Advanced Revit proficiency essential
- Tertiary qualification in Interior Design or Architecture
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience across all project phases from concept to completion
- Australian citizenship essential
- Strong technical documentation and specification skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop interior design solutions for defence and complex projects
- Prepare detailed interior documentation through SD, DD, and CD phases
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and specialist consultants
- Manage interior fitout specifications and material selections
- Oversee interior construction documentation and CA phases
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers on interior components
- Ensure compliance with defence standards and security requirements
- Support project delivery through construction administration
