Office Manager (Melbourne & Sydney)

Studio Manager | Melbourne
Be at the heart of a leading National architectural practice, providing day to day studio and business support.
Are you an organised, proactive all-rounder who loves bringing people together, keeping things running smoothly and creating a great first impression?
We’re partnering with a national architectural practice to find a Studio Manager to support its Melbourne studio. This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of a creative and collaborative environment, where you’ll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the studio and the experience of the people who work in and visit it.
From welcoming clients and visitors to coordinating studio events, supporting recruitment and keeping office operations on track, this role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to make a real contribution to a thriving professional practice.
Perfect for an experienced Office Coordinator, Office Manager or administrative support professional who enjoys being the go-to person and thrives in a people-focused environment.
As Studio Manager, you’ll be instrumental in creating a welcoming, organised and engaging studio environment for a team of architects and design professionals. You’ll help ensure the studio runs seamlessly, supporting the team behind the scenes while contributing to the culture and day-to-day experience of the wider practice.
Working within a national business, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with people across the studio and potentially the broader practice, bringing your organisational skills, initiative and can-do attitude to a role where no two days are quite the same.
From front-of-house responsibilities and general administration through to event coordination, recruitment support and office operations, this is a true all-rounder position for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in making things happen.
In this role, your responsibilities will be:

  • Studio & Office Management: Oversee the day-to-day running of the Melbourne studio, ensuring the environment is welcoming, organised and operating smoothly.
  • Front of House & Reception: Meet and greet clients, visitors and consultants, manage incoming calls and enquiries, and create a professional first impression that reflects the practice.
  • Team & Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, coordinate meetings, manage calendars and assist with the everyday needs of the studio team.
  • Events & Studio Culture: Coordinate studio events, team gatherings and industry or client-related activities that encourage connection and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Recruitment Coordination: Support recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communication and onboarding for new team members.
  • Office Operations: Coordinate suppliers, facilities, office supplies and general studio requirements, ensuring everything is taken care of.
  • National Practice Support: Assist with communication, coordination and administrative activities that support the smooth operation of the Melbourne studio within a broader national practice.
  • General All-Round Support: Get involved in projects, problem-solving and ad hoc tasks across the business. You’re someone who is happy to roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed.

To be considered for this role, you must have:
You’re an approachable, organised and resourceful professional who enjoys supporting people and creating an environment where others can do their best work. You understand the importance of getting the details right, building strong relationships and making the day-to-day run effortlessly.

  • Previous experience in an Office Coordinator, Office Manager, Studio Manager or similar administrative support role.
  • Experience in architecture, design, engineering, property or another professional services environment would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with confidence.
  • A friendly, polished and professional communication style.
  • A proactive approach, with the initiative to anticipate needs and take ownership.
  • Strong attention to detail and a natural ability to keep things organised.
  • Confidence coordinating events, managing logistics and liaising with a range of stakeholders.
  • A flexible, can-do attitude and the ability to adapt in a busy, collaborative environment.
  • A genuine interest in workplace culture and creating a positive experience for staff, clients and visitors.

The benefits of working for this practice include:
This is an opportunity to join a respected national architectural practice and become an integral part of its Melbourne studio.
Rather than being confined to a traditional reception or administration role, you’ll enjoy a broad remit spanning studio operations, people support, events and recruitment. You’ll work alongside talented design professionals, contribute to a collaborative studio culture and play a key role in keeping the business running smoothly behind the scenes.
If you enjoy variety, take pride in being highly organised and love being the person everyone can rely on, this could be the perfect next step.
Interested?
If you’re a natural organiser who enjoys working with people, thrives on variety and wants to be part of a creative, design-led environment, we’d love to hear from you.
