Health Architect | Brisbane

A leading Tier 1 architecture and design practice is looking to appoint an experienced Architect with a strong background in healthcare to join its Brisbane studio.

This opportunity will suit someone who is passionate about architecture and design, enjoys working on complex projects and can bring both creativity and commercial awareness to the table.

Healthcare experience is important, but this role is equally focused on finding a strong all-round architect — someone who can think conceptually, communicate ideas clearly, lead design conversations and contribute to high-quality project outcomes.

You will join a well-established team working across significant healthcare projects, with the opportunity to be involved from the earliest stages of a project through to delivery.

In the role as a Health Architect, you will work closely with senior leaders, clients, consultants and project teams across a diverse range of health-sector work.

The role will involve developing design ideas, contributing to strategic project thinking and helping turn complex project requirements into thoughtful, functional and engaging spaces.

You will also have the opportunity to mentor and guide others, contribute to client relationships and play a part in the ongoing growth of the practice's healthcare offering.

This is a role with plenty of variety and visibility, ideally suited to someone who enjoys being involved in both the creative and strategic sides of architecture.

In the role as a Health Architect, we are seeking an Architect who can demonstrate:

  • Solid experience working on healthcare projects within an architectural practice.

  • Strong design instincts and the ability to develop and communicate architectural ideas.

  • Experience across a broad range of project stages, from early planning and concept development through to documentation and construction.

  • Confidence working with complex briefs and multiple stakeholder groups.

  • An understanding of the technical and regulatory considerations associated with healthcare environments.

  • The ability to lead design discussions and coordinate project teams.

  • Strong client-facing and presentation skills.

  • A collaborative working style and the confidence to engage with clinicians, consultants and other senior stakeholders.

  • An interest in how healthcare environments are changing and how design can respond to new ways of delivering care.

  • The ability to think beyond the immediate project and contribute to broader client and business opportunities.

This role is for someone who enjoys solving complex design problems and are comfortable balancing creative thinking with practical project requirements.

You will be someone who can build trust with clients, contribute ideas, support and lead teams and bring a considered point of view to the work you do.

A genuine interest in the future of healthcare and the role architecture can play in creating better environments for patients, staff and communities will be highly regarded.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly regarded Tier 1 practice with a strong pipeline of major work and an established reputation in the market.

The business offers a people-focused environment with a genuine emphasis on flexibility, collaboration and sustainable working practices.

In the role as a Health Architect, you will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Hybrid working and work-from-home flexibility

  • A supportive approach to work-life balance

  • A highly collaborative and inclusive studio environment

  • Access to major and high-profile healthcare projects

  • Strong career development and progression opportunities

  • The chance to work with experienced and respected industry professionals

  • A range of employee benefits and wellbeing initiatives

  • Flexibility and autonomy in how you work

  • The opportunity to contribute to the future growth of an established healthcare portfolio

For an experienced healthcare architect looking for a strong design environment, high-quality work and a culture that supports flexibility, this is an opportunity well worth considering.
