Mega Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded national architectural practice based in Sydney, known for delivering high-quality projects across Australia. They are seeking an experienced Project Leader with 10+ years of architectural experience to take ownership of projects, lead teams and work closely with senior leadership across design, documentation and delivery.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being responsible for the outcome.
You’ll be leading project teams, coordinating consultants, managing deadlines and helping drive projects from the early stages through to construction. You will be trusted to make decisions, resolve issues as they arise and keep both the team and project moving in the right direction.
As Project Leader, you will work across complex architectural projects and take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and delivery of your projects.
You will work closely with Associates and Principals while managing Architects, Designers and Graduates within your team.
Your role will include:

Leading projects from design development through documentation and construction

Managing architectural project teams

Allocating tasks and coordinating team workloads

Working closely with senior leadership on project strategy and delivery

Coordinating consultants and external stakeholders
-
Managing project programmes, deadlines and deliverables
-
Reviewing architectural documentation and technical quality
-
Identifying project risks and resolving issues early

Managing client communication and project expectations
-
Supporting junior and mid-level team members
-
Ensuring projects remain coordinated, efficient and commercially aware

Taking ownership of project outcomes from start to finish
This is an opportunity to step into a role where you can genuinely lead rather than simply contribute to one part of the project. We’re looking for someone with a minimum of 10+ years of architectural experience who has developed strong project leadership and delivery capability.
You may already hold the title of Project Leader, Senior Architect or Associate, or you may be operating at this level without the formal recognition.
You will ideally bring:

10+ years of architectural experience

Strong current Australian architectural experience

Proven experience leading projects and project teams

Experience working across multiple phases of project delivery

Strong design development and documentation knowledge

Solid technical and construction understanding

Experience coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams

Confidence managing project programmes and deadlines

Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

The ability to mentor and support less experienced staff

Strong communication and organisational skills

A collaborative and accountable leadership style
Revit capability will be highly regarded, particularly for someone who can review work, understand the model and support the team technically when required.
This role will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of a project and being the person the team can rely on. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple moving parts, making decisions, solving problems and communicating clearly with both your internal team and external stakeholders.
You may be looking for more autonomy in your current role, or you may be ready to move into a practice where your project leadership capability is recognised and supported.
The ideal person will be technically strong, commercially aware and confident managing people, but will also understand that successful project leadership comes from communication, collaboration and knowing when to escalate an issue.
You’ll be joining an established national architectural practice with a strong presence across Australia.
